Thanks for the reply. I agree that you don’t have to teach them the error of their ways. I would like to know if you support the theory that it’s a fault in their raising and the reverse-Disney-Princess thing has them in the wrong mindset.
I can’t guess what was going on that upset you at your time of posting, but hope if it has to do with the person you reblogged through that you are not harassed. Feel free to argue with me about this, I admire your position.
(I don’t know if I’m linking this from the right person. If I’ve screwed this up, I’m really sorry.)
Okay, this has gone on long enough. I feel that the Nice Guy has been run into the ground and depreciated lower than ever due to the internet backlash. I understand the defense: the nice guy ploy is a routine; nice guys are too shortsighted to be capable of a mature, healthy…
Actually, I want to point out that the comment on a person of another race does not have the job of educating you on race, because it’s a solid point. No, no one has the job of anything, nor is anything I say more than commentary. But the Nice Guys need to change, and someone needs to set them straight. I can’t change anyone who is too immature to recognize their own faults (directed at the misguided Nice Guys, not a jab at the posts I’m receiving) anymore than anyone of another race, gender or status. But I think something more proactive than calling then creepy and pointing out their flaws should be done.
Thanks for the insight, I’d like to hear a longer rebuttal if you have one.
Uh-uh. I don’t have to teach people shit period. Just like a PoC doesn’t have to explain shit to a white person and tell them why they call them entitled and privileged, a woman does not have to explain to a man why she has the right to turn him down and tell him exactly why.
So no, I’m not going to try and change the ways of some wayward guy. I don’t care.
[Also, I was sort of pissed off in my original reblogging of this because of personal reasons, I like to think I’m way more level-headed right now]
